Anatomy of the design process for conceptual logo and signage
This particular client requested logo development to be applied for use in signs and banners for their huge department store. Being of Armenian descent they specified mountain tops that are icons in their native land. Mount Ararat is a famous landmark that were to be implemented in the design. They had no existing pictures so it was up to AMLINE DESIGNS INC. to do the research and create a store logo using that specific imagery. This is the initial graphics, rendered.
Along with the logo, their instructions where to add the name of the establishment in bold letters. Eventually, the artwork will be incorporated in various mediums of advertising. Their top priority was to have in place the front sign and side billboard due by the grand opening. So, the established logo has to be printed in large format - visible from the street and appealing to their target customers. In addition, their country's insignia also prominently displayed the colors red and yellow.
AMLINE DESIGNS INC. created four conceptual mock-ups to choose from. Some clients have no idea where to start, and it is up to us to bring forth from the drawing board, initial sketches from what they conveyed. From this point we, at times, hit it right off the bat. But, if not, then at least it facilitates direction for additional concepts. Though some may already be content, as these lay-outs are quite indicative of the final product, others require a stronger visual to simulate the actual appearance. So...voila! By piecing multiple shots to show a panoramic view, and superimposing the proposed logos, we made it easier for them to visualize.
