For Your Information - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I have an insect or bug problem and not be aware of it?

A. You sure can. Small pests could be anywhere: Near moisture areas, trees, bushes, sheds/garages, etc. and tend to be out of sight most of the time until they breed and obvious problems occur.

Q. My pet has fleas. Can you eliminate them even if they are still on my pets?

A. Yes, though you still need treatment of your pet as they bring in the fleas. We'll start with flea-eradication of your home..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. My neighbor detected Fire Ants in my yard, and I've been paranoid since. Should I be worried?

A. Fire Ants can be deadly insects in which 2% of the United States population is allergic and 1% is deathly allergic. To alleviate your fears a professional analysis is recommended .

Q. Are Water Bugs and Palmetto Bugs roaches?

A. Yes, they are of the roach family and live mostly outdoors along with other roach types. Some species are easier to control than others. We suggest immediate treatment before they multiply.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. There's a bunch of spiders in our tool shed. Are only some spiders poisonous?

A. They all secrete venom, though some spiders are more toxic than others. Either way (just to play it safe) stay away from them and let a technician scrutinize the type.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. I see flying ant-like things, someone said these could be swarming termites. Could this be true?

A. Well, ants may not be a cause of alarm as much as the threat of termite infestation. Once we determine that they, indeed, are termites, then drastic measures are in order.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Even before I see the signs how would you know of internal damages occuring now?

A. Wood destroying organisms (termites, wood boring beetles, fungus, etc.) all leave tell-tale evidence. We have years of training and experience in recognizing the symptoms and proof.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Can I buy the chemicals and do it myself?

A. Chemical applications are toxic and should be left to professionals. We do not recommend our customers do any treatments themselves. We are licensed with continuous training to administer specific chemicals, and know how to handle hazardous material. Why risk your health and environment?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Is it normal to see an increase in pest activity after each treatment?

A. Yes. The GAC treatment is designed to flush pests out of their hiding places and send them looking for new sources of food and water as the chemicals takes effect.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Will I see cockroaches, spiders, ants or other insects after treatment?

A. Yes, it’s possible that insects may wander in from outside, or come out from hiding, but you have all the assurance they will eventually come into contact with the chemical.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. How long does it take for each treatment to take full effect and kill off the targeted pests?

A. It can take 10-14 days. The increase of pest activity indicates that they are in a frenzied state because they will soon be fully eradicated. But if there happens to be a chance of a few survivors then we'll be back to finish them off, also.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Do I still need treatment since I no longer see the termites or their evidence?

A. It depends upon the type of termite you have. It may mean that they have moved into some new area. When they swarm, the colony is simply transplanting. These are the little princes and princesses going out to start new colonies.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Do I need to be home for each regular exterior service?

A. No. For your convenience we provide a regular exterior service that targets pests where they nest and breed. We treat around the foundation of your home as well as the entry points to create a barrier
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Do you move storage?

A. Generally speaking - No. We don't mind moving the garbage cans or the bicycle but beyond that it's the homeowner's responsibility. There are just fragile items, or heavy pieces of furniture or appliances that we prefer not to touch.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. When should I have my house inspected if I am going to sell it?

A. The best time to have your house inspected is prior to agreeing on a sales price with a prospective buyer. Most agents typically wait until the house is in escrow before ordering the report. If you have budgeted for termite or fungus problems, you are all right. However, if you didn't budget for these problems, the additional expenses could turn into a nightmare. Get a termite inspection before you negotiate a sales price.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Do you do certified inspections? And what exactly do you inspect?

A. The wood components of your home. We do not inspect the building's roof, plumbing, electrical system, heater, etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. How long will the inspection take?

A. A typical inspection of a 2000 square foot +/- home is about one hour. Of course your home may be a typical and take longer and can potentially cost more to inspect.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. What are test holes?

A. Test holes are invasive and there's no getting around this issue. If your home is stucco clad, old, and in a marine environment you're at risk. Stucco can harbor problems unbeknownst to the common property owner. The only way to know if there is wood decay is to make strategic holes through the stucco at known critical areas in order to probe the wood for damage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Stucco can harbor what problems?

A. Stucco is a common exterior finish in California. It is a cementitious material usually 3/4" thick and holds paint well, but that's where it ends. Unlike wood clad buildings that take a beating due to weather or solar damage that require paint every few years, stucco doesn't breath/ventilate like wood-sided buildings during normal seasonal expansion and contraction.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. How long before we can expect a written report?

A. The usual period, in general, is a one-day turnaround. Of course, there may be some exceptions due to unforseen circumstances.
